App Content Stored on Your Device

The application keeps your forestry records locally on your Android device. Depending on what you choose to enter, this content may include:

Sites, such as a name, an optional note and an optional cover image
Snapshots, such as the linked site, date and time, six indicator states, notes and optional images
Preferences, such as local theme, readability, export, photo and local data management settings
Local exports and saved drafts

How the App Works Offline

The core workflow runs on your device and is local-first. The company does not operate a backend that stores your sites, snapshots or exports, and there is no account history to sign in to. You are not asked to create an account or to provide identity details in order to use the app.

Because your records live on the device, they are not automatically transmitted to the developer as part of the core workflow. The company does not receive them unless you choose to send them, for example by exporting a summary and passing it on yourself.

Optional Photos and Cover Images

Moor Forestry allows you to add images, such as a cover image for a site or a photograph alongside a snapshot. These are selected by you from your device and are stored as local app content. The app does not gather images from your device on its own, and images you add are not automatically sent to the company.

Using the app without images remains entirely possible; sites, snapshots, notes and dashboard summaries all work on the text you enter.

Exporting and Sharing Your Records Yourself

The app can produce exports from your local records, such as summaries of sites and snapshots. An export is generated only when you choose to create one, and it is then saved or shared through Android system actions that you select.

Your data remains on the device unless you choose to export, copy or share it. Once an export leaves the app, it stays wherever you saved or sent it, and the company has no access to it.

What the App Does Not Include

Moor Forestry does not require login or account registration, does not include payment processing, and does not offer subscriptions or other monetisation features.

Important Use Notice

The app is intended for informational and planning purposes. Snapshots, dashboard summaries, local history and exports are based on the observations you enter yourself, and they reflect only what you record.

Retention, Deletion and Your Control

Local records remain on the device until you delete them, clear the app's local data or uninstall the application. Exported files remain wherever you chose to save or share them, and managing those files is up to you.

Individual sites and snapshots can be deleted within the app, and the app also provides a way to clear all local app data as part of its local data management settings. Local app data can equally be removed through Android device settings or by uninstalling the application.

Security

Local app content is kept within the application's own storage on the device and is not held on company servers. Protecting the device itself, for example with the screen lock you configure, remains with you, and exported files are your responsibility once you have saved or sent them.

Your Rights in the UK and EEA

Because your forestry records are held on your own device rather than on company systems, the app's core workflow does not involve the company processing that content. User-created local content may nevertheless contain personal information if you choose to enter or attach it.

Where personal data is processed, individuals in the UK or the EEA may have rights under applicable data protection legislation, including access, correction, deletion and restriction of processing, to the extent those rights apply in the circumstances. If you email the company, the company receives your email address and whatever your message contains. That correspondence is held as direct correspondence, separately from any content stored in the app.
